Dressing Process of Copper & Introduction of Beneficiation Equipment

Copper ore dressing is the process of extracting copper from ore. It is broken in the ore crushing plant, ground in a ball mill, and then smelted in a furnace with a piece of tin ore to produce copper metal.

Copper ore dressing process:

1. Coarse crushing crude copper ore is sent to jaw crusher by vibrating feeder, broken to 8 inches or less. The material after the first crushing is transported by the belt conveyor to the cone crusher for secondary crushing; the broken copper ore is then sent to the vibrating screen for classification. After classification, the smaller particle than the screen size is transported as the final product, and the rest is returned to the cone crusher to form a closed loop. Final product sizes can be combined and graded according to your specific requirements.

The more minor crushed copper ore is sent to a ball mill for grinding. Inside the ball mill, the crushed copper ore will be ground to around 0.2 mm with a 3-inch steel ball.

Pump the copper slurry into a stirred tank. This copper slurry is eventually pumped to the flotation machine, and the fine sulfide ore ( ~ -0.074mm ) enters the foam flotation tank to recover copper.


1. A crushing line has the traditional two-stage closed circuit system, ideal fineness. In addition, the jaw crusher has a greater crushing capacity.

2. In terms of crushing and grading, it has a large processing capacity and small floor area, and the ultra-fine laminated self-grinding machine can save more than 85 % energy.

3. When classifying, a hydrocyclone and a vibrating screen can enhance the classification effect.

4. If adopt the third generation of dry stacking tailings technology, the process could reach energy savings of 60-80 %. In addition, it can also protect the environment and build a green mine base.
